Mr. Hider is the Chief Executive Officer of ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. He is an experienced executive with a track record of success founded on his ability to drive business growth and operational performance in complex business environments and across multiple industries including transportation, advanced technology, instrumentation and industrial products. Most recently, Mr. Hider served as President and CEO of the Taylor Made Group, LLC, a diversified global leader in the supply of innovative products and systems for marine, transportation, agriculture, and construction markets, a position he held from May 2016 through to February, 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Hider served for 10 years at Danaher Corporation, a global science and technology company, initially joining Danaher as General Manager and Director of Dover and most recently serving as President of Veeder Root. Mr. Hider began his career with General Electric, serving in a number of areas over a six-year period including manufacturing, project management, procurement and finance, culminating in his appointment as General Manager of GE Tri-Remanufacturing. Mr. Hider holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Clarkson University.
Mr. McLeod was appointed interim Chief Financial Officer in 2020. Mr. McLeod joined ATS in 2007 as Manager of Reporting and Compliance, became Director of Finance in 2010, and assumed the role of Vice President and Corporate Controller in 2014. Prior to ATS, Mr. McLeod served in a finance management role at CIBC Mellon and began his career at Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. McLeod is a Chartered Accountant and holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Ms. Alexander, CHRO has been with ATS since 2018. Ms. Alexander is responsible for Talent and Sustainability Strategy, Development and Support. Prior to joining ATS, Ms. Alexander held a variety of global HR senior leadership roles at Honeywell. Following a start in the private sector, Ms. Alexander progressively refined her HR expertise over a variety of leadership positions with Ford Motor Company in North America, Europe and South America. Ms. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies from the University of Rochester.
Mr. Metri is Chief Information Officer of ATS a position he has held since 2018. In this role, Mr. Metri is responsible for the organizational Information Technology Strategy & Operations. Prior to his current role at ATS, Mr. Metri was the Global IT Service Strategy Head with Novartis a publicly-traded company with multinational operations. Previously, Mr. Metri was the Regional IT Head for BoartLongyear leading IT Operations across North America. Mr. Metri has held various Senior IT Leadership positions, has extensive transnational experience across Healthcare and Manufacturing sectors and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Ryerson University, Toronto.
Mr. McCuaig is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, a position he has held since 2005 when he joined ATS. Mr. McCuaig oversees the company’s legal, compliance and risk functions. Mr. McCuaig began his career working for 10 years as a corporate commercial lawyer at the law firm Sims Clement Eastman. He then moved on to in-house legal roles – two years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Mortice Kern Systems Inc., a Canadian publicly traded software company in the applications lifecycle management field, followed by 5 years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Syndesis Limited, a privately held telecommunications software company. Mr. McCuaig’s education includes a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Laws (Intellectual Property) from Osgoode Hall Law School, and numerous economics and graduate business courses from the University of Western Ontario and Wilfrid Laurier University, respectively.
Mr. Debus joined ATS in his current role as the President, Process Automation Solutions, in September 2018. He started his career at Daimler in the Research and Technology division. After that he joined a Malik MZSG, a Swiss management consulting firm. From there he moved to Keiper Recaro Group where he first took over the Corporate Strategy department before he moved to Japan to take over the responsibility for RECARO Asia Pacific. After his return from Japan to Germany he led RECARO Car Seating globally, and then to Camfil to lead the Industrial Air Filtration division before he joined ATS.
Steve Emery joined ATS in 2010 and has held the position of Vice President of Global Procurement since 2013. In this role, Mr. Emery is responsible for the development and deployment of supply chain strategy and processes across the organization. Prior to joining ATS, Mr. Emery was Head of Global Supply Chain and Value Engineering with Sciex, a Life Science division of Danaher Corporation. He has previously held various positions in Supply Chain, Engineering and Project Management at EADS (Airbus) Space Division, including leadership roles in the UK, Germany and USA. He is an alumni of the International Space University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Chris Hart is President of ATS Life Science Group, a position he has held since 2018. In this role, Mr. Hart is responsible for the Global Life Science systems organization. Prior to his current role, he was VP Operations for the Life Science Group at ATS. During his 30 year tenure with ATS, Mr. Hart has held various leadership positions within the organization ranging from Controls Engineering, Program Management and General Management.
Mr. Panenka joined ATS in 2019 in his current role as the President, Mobility, Nuclear, Specialty Automation. Prior to ATS, Mr. Panenka spent 10 years with Danaher Group in Germany and Belgium with progressively larger roles, including President for Esko, a global developer of integrated hardware and software solutions for the print, packaging and label industries. Prior to this, he worked for Kollmorgen, a provider of motion control and automation solutions in a variety of leadership positions. Mr. Panenka earned his B.A. (Dipl.-Betriebswirt BA) from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim/Germany.
Mr. Patten joined ATS in 2017 to develop and deploy the ATS Business Model (ABM) across the global platform. Prior to joining ATS, Mr. Patten was the Vice President for Liquid Controls and Material Processing Technologies, both IDEX Corporation companies, responsible for both the commercial and operational execution of these international businesses. Mr. Patten has also held a number of progressive leadership positions in Danaher Corporation, culminating as the Director of Operations for X-Ray Optical Systems, and including leadership positions throughout Fluke and Veeder-Root. He also spent five years of service in the US Army as a Military Police officer. Mr. Patten holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy, along with a masters degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Roberts is Senior Vice President, After Sales and Services at ATS Automation Tooling Systems since 2015. Mr. Roberts has a 20 year track record as an international executive with an operations background and a proven track record of general, commercial and program management in Aerospace and Industrial Automation. Simon served as Vice President and General Manager of Bombardier Aerospace Commercial Aircraft. Prior to that, Airbus in the UK as the Vice President, Hawker Program. Most recently, Mr. Roberts has joined the ISLA Executive Board, an International Network of Professionals with focus on Customer Service, After Sales Management, and Service Logistics in the digital age.
Mr. Tassone is the Vice President of Corporate Development of ATS, a position he has held since 2012. In this role, Mr. Tassone is responsible for ATS’s inorganic growth strategy and activities. Prior to joining ATS, Joe spent 9 years at TD Securities, a leading Canadian Investment Bank, where he advised companies in the broader industrials sectors in the execution of their respective M&A and financing strategies. Joe has extensive experience in structuring and executing M&A and Corporate Finance transactions having worked on numerous domestic & international transactions over his career. Joe holds a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto and has an MBA from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.
Mr. Weidemann is Managing Director of IWK. He has over 25 years of experience in the packaging and machinery industry. Prior to his current role, Mr. Weidemann has been Cluster Vice President with TetraPak, a global market-leading packaging and processing company. Before that, he served as Managing Director at Makino Europe, leading the European operations of the Japanese machine tool company. Mr Weidemann earned a Master Degree in Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from the Technical University in Darmstadt.
